Getting Bees Ready for Winter Part 1

Bee Keeping

Beekeeper Gary shares tips on how to get your bees ready for Northern Ohio winters.

Our winters can be cold in Northern Ohio. November is a good time to take advantage of the last few warmer days to prepare the bees for the oncoming cold weather. Now is the time to remove the inner feeders. They have been in for over a month and now the bees have slowed down feeding on them. Giving them sugar water helps them build up their weight to get through winter.  Next the sugar boards will go on. These will be emergency food for the winter months.
