With the holidays fast approaching, and 2024 coming to an end, we want to thank our
valued community of customers, suppliers, workshop attendees, neighbors and well-
wishers we meet and talk with throughout the year. Tami and I feel a great sense of
blessing and friendship as we serve our community with wholesome-clean products.
The year 2024 was a year full of changes at Cherry City Honey.
The year began with a lot of community excitement surrounding the Great Eclipse of
2024. Cherry City Honey hosted several eclipse presentations in our classroom which
were well attended by the public. Several additional eclipse presentations were
provided within the community and to civic organizations. On the day of the eclipse,
Cherry City Honey hosted approximately 50 visitors from around the US who traveled to
Bellevue, Ohio to share the total eclipse experience with us.
The big learning we had in 2024 is how much our customers appreciate learning
opportunities in the form of workshops and presentations. Although Cherry City Honey
has traditionally conducted beekeeping workshops and training to the local beekeeper
community, in 2024 we began providing workshops surrounding other sustainability
topics such as foraging for wholesome food and using beeswax to produce fire starters,
luminaries, and holiday ornaments. Based on our customers’ feedback, workshops and
other presentations will now be routinely scheduled and provided in the future.
Cherry City Honey also added many new products to our store this year. We now
provide certain types of honey not available in Ohio, such as Bourbon Barrel Honey,
which is a Pennsylvania favorite, Orange Blossom Honey which is a snowbird favorite
from Florida, and authentic Manuka Honey famous for its medical uses from New
Zealand.
We also installed a new parking lot and private dog park at Cherry City Honey in 2024.
The larger parking lot now allows larger tour busses to more easily turn around and park
on the property. Visiting tour busses allows us to meet so many nice people from
around Ohio and surrounding states who want to visit our honey farm and learn about
honeybees.
The private dog park is new for the Bellevue area. The “Sweet Spot” Private Dog Park
allows travelers or others who are local to schedule time and bring their pets to the park.
Time can be scheduled at sniffspot.com. Tami and I learned the importance of having
fenced dog parks available when we traveled to Florida during January with our son’s
dog. Our dog park customers really love the tranquil country setting and appreciate the
low cost of using the facility.
Finally, in 2024, we hired a great addition to our team. Autumn is so friendly and great
with our customers. She also has lots of knowledge about all-natural products and has
experience using clean chemical free products. We really appreciate having Autumn at
our store.
